FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Rates:

For a quote, please fill out our inquiry form or contact us by phone or email during our business hours. Price will vary depending on the number of musicians, instrumentation/type of ensemble, the length of the engagement that you are interested in, and location of the venue.

Booking:

A signed contract with a non-refundable 50% deposit of the total fee, and Minimum 1 hour of engagement is required to book our service.

Unless there is a signed contract with a deposit, we will not guarantee our availability for your date.

Payment

Clients have two payment options.

Option 1.
1. A non-refundable 50% deposit of the total fee at the time of booking.
2. Remaining 50% of the total fee is due on date of your event at the time of musicians' arrival, in cash or money order only. Absolutely no personal cheques will be accepted for the balance.

Option 2.
1. Full payment of the total fee at the time of booking with your choice of payment method-Cash, cheque, money order, or certified cheque.

Please note date remains open until the deposit is received.

Ensembles & Instruments available:

Determining type of ensemble and number of musicians for your event:

The decision would depend on your budget, nature of your event, number of guests, your preference in music selection & sound, size & location of your venue.

MOODS offers a large selection of music to cater for any type of events.
If you wish us to perform a piece of music that is not listed in our music page, please let us know at the time of booking. MOODS will play almost any requested music as long as we are provided with an appropriate sheet music for the ensemble that you have booked for your event.

All the Sheet music for custom-requested pieces must be provided at least 3 weeks before your booked event.

Selecting Music for your event:

Please feel free to contact us anytime during our business hours, if you have any questions, or would like our assistance for choosing music for your event. All the music for your event is to be confirmed at least 3 weeks before date of event.

Dress code:

Men: Black tuxedo
Women: Black concert dress

Please advice otherwise at the time of booking, if you have other preference on musicians' dress code.

Musical background of our musicians:

Members of MOODS are among the finest in Toronto, from symphony orchestra musicians to members of high caliber chamber ensembles. All of our musicians hold one or more degree in music performance, from many prestigious music institutions around the world. Many of their individual performances can be heard on radio and television.

Outdoor events:

For all outdoor events, proper shelter from direct sun must be provided for musicians to ensure the safety of their valuable instruments and the ability to provide quality music. In the case of rain, musicians will not perform outdoor.
Temperature requirement: Minimum 18*C, or 65*F

Traveling fee:

For venues located outside city of Toronto, there is a standard vendor travel fee.

Pre-event Rehearsals:

We will be happy to assist you and attend pre-event rehearsals such as wedding ceremony rehearsals and dress rehearsals at additional cost.

Rehearsal with a singer:

There will be a short rehearsal between our musicians and your singer a few minutes prior to agreed start time on the day of the event, if necessary.

Arranging MOODS to accompany non-professional soloist (ie. Family member) for your event:

Please let us know at the time of booking, if you would like us to accompany a non-professional musician for your event.

Requirement:
-Your soloist's contact information-Name, Phone Number, Email address.
-All the appropriate sheet music that are needed to accompany your soloist, written in the key that soloist will sing/perform-To be provided at least to 3 weeks before your booked event.

Guide line for booking music-Church Ceremony:

Non-Catholic:
For Ceremony only- Min. 1 Hour
For Seating of guests(prelude), ceremony & Guests leaving(postlude)- Min. 1 Hour 15 Minutes.

Catholic Ceremony-with no Mass:
For Ceremony only- Min. 1 Hour 10 Minutes
For Seating of guests(prelude), ceremony & Guests leaving(postlude)- Min. 1 Hour 20 minutes

Catholic Ceremony-Full Mass with communion, offering, etc.:
For Ceremony only- Min. 1 Hour 15 Minutes
For Seating of guests (prelude), ceremony & Guests leaving (postlude)- Min. 1 Hour 30 Minutes

Overtime Fees & Policy:

When musicians are required to stay longer than the timeline that was agreed pre-event, there will be overtime charges.

Overtime fees are to be paid at the time of event in cash or money order only.

Corporate events:

Conferences, product launches, openings, holidays, anniversaries, cocktail parties, fundraising or charity events.
